Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)is therapy most used for depression and anxiety; there is so much evidence-based research to support this form of treatment. The basic idea behind CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are l interconnected, and by changing one, a domino effect occurs where the other two are changed as well. The most effective point of entry is through the thoughts. By identifying and challenging an intrusive thought, behaviour and feelings will be positively impacted. CBT is a very effective form of treatment and is particularly useful for those new to therapy because it is not too ‘heavy’ and it offers relatively fast results.
